Here at Kyrö Distillery most of the staff have always been interested in social issues and current topics. And we tend to talk a lot about them. Even the contradictory and painful subjects.
But we’ve also been quite frustrated about the public conversation and talks in media. It has seemed that social media’s anonymous rampaging and hate speech is suddenly taking over more and more of the conversation.
So we wanted to do something about it.
We want to be an active part of the surrounding society, so we decided to open our doors and invite a bunch of people to sit around Kyrö’s Table and talk things through.
We are inviting all kinds of people – experts, leaders and ordinary Joes – but all with good manners, mutual respect and shared rules for the conversation. And we’ll go through all kinds of subjects, presently hot, contradictory and substantial. All topics are chaired by a acquainted moderator.
Despite the different views, everyone comes here as a friend and leaves as a friend. At Kyrö’s Table, we are opening the subjects and facts. Not each other’s throats.
Welcome to Kyrö’s Table. On five episodes, we are talking about religions, feminism, poverty, racism and urbanism.
