IHME Helsinki is an art commissioning agency now changing its approach and carrying on with new mission: collaboration between art and science. High-quality contemporary art and new works commissioned from international artists remain at the core of that approach. The new, interdisciplinary emphasis is on climate crisis.
Each year, in collaboration with an artist and Finnish and foreign partners the Foundation produces a work of art in public space in Finland and abroad. The artists invited by IHME will now have previous experience of collaborating with researchers and science organizations, specifically on issues related to ecology. IHME Helsinki also wants to encourage other cultural-sector actors to check the environmental impacts of their operations and to share tips on reducing them.
IHME Helsinki wants to promote art in an ecologically sustainable, democratic society as an important part of people’s lives and everyday existences. Måndag is helping them to renew brand strategy and bring together a campaign that carries the important new messages to target groups.
