Gourmet waste food, Arabic rhythms and new acquaintances. The dinner event Eat to Meet (Helsinki) brought old and new Finns to the same table.
Eat to Meet was organised to celebrate waste food restaurant Loop’s first anniversary. During the past years, Helsinki has welcomed many new residents who have been forced to flee their home countries and who have found a safe haven in Helsinki. Eat to Meet brought the newcomers together with the locals.
A dinner table was laid in the historical Lapinlahti hospital milieu. Dinner is a natural way for people to get to know each other and share stories. Between every meal, the participants switched seats to interact with more people. The three-course vegetarian menu was prepared by using ingredients that would have otherwise been thrown away.
Måndag helped in organising the event together with Finnish Syrian Association.
