Can a Finn be the president of Somalia?
Somalia, a country that desperately needs stability and peace. A country that millions of people had to leave behind. When the presidential elections took place in Somalia in 2012, one of the candidates was from Finland. Amal. Amal left Somalia with her family when she was 17-years old and they ended up in Finland. Twenty years later, the practical nurse with five children wanted to return her home country – as the president. Måndag created Amal’s campaign and supported her in fundraising. You can’t always win – Amal’s candidacy was rejected because of her age.
