We need more urban nature to slow the climate crisis. Even small nature areas contribute to strengthening biodiversity, which is crucial to maintain a healthy ecosystem. Urban nature also increases neighbourhood’s visual appeal and can be used for educational purposes too.
Green Infra -concept provides new ideas for solving climatic challenges in urban areas by building with nature. The on-going projects are examining how cities can build systematic green infrastructure by optimising the use of space. Now Green Infra is transforming an old lawn in Munkkisaari into the lively meadow. The concept is based in design-thinking and collaboration between different stakeholders, local citizens, researchers and the client, HELEN.
