The best way to take care of the environment is to find information and change your habits – and help others to do the same. Tankki is a new think tank for young people aged 18 to 25 with an aim to question familiar habits and find more sustainable solutions for everyday life. Tankki was launched Helsinki, Jyväskylä and Rovaniemi by The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and Måndag in Autumn 2018.
Tankki is a way for young people to find a community with similar values. The aim of Tankki is to educate its members about sustainability and develop the ways to influence the environment through their own lifestyle. With the help of mentors, workshops and company visits volunteers gain knowledge about sustainability and as a result, share their learnings in Tankkis’s social media channels: Facebook & Instagram.
During pilot phase in Autumn 2018 Tankki was focusing to three themes: clothing and fashion, food and travel. The themes were mentored by trashionista Outi Les Pyy, WWF conservation specialist Annukka Valkeapää and writer, photographer and travel blogger Marinella Himari.
Måndag has designed the concept and curated the programme of Tankki together with The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. Måndag has also done marketing and communication for Tankki.
