You do not need guns or uniforms. Phone, laptop and camera are all you need in this mission of peace!
Lennonit is a new peacemaking agency for 16 to 19-year-old persons offering an opportunity to network, educate and expand skills in the field of media and peacemaking. Lennonit co-operates with an independent Finnish organization The Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) that works to prevent and resolve violent conflicts through informal dialogue. Founder of the organization is the Nobel Peace laureate and former President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari. CMI has grown to become one of the leaders in its field.
Lennonit was launched in 2017. First year ended up successfully – Lennonit were invited to participate to United Nations Youth Dialogue hosted by UN General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák, in May 2018. They also launched their own peacemaking campaign #pokkaamyöntää.
The next generation of Lennonit was gathered during Autumn 2018. Also, they design their own peacemaking campaign #arjenrauhaa. Campaigns differ from each other but they have a common goal: to promote daily peace. Everyone can act to build a more peaceful environment in daily lives. You can follow Lennonit in social media: Facebook & Instagram.
During their work Lennonit have met remarkable politicians and other influencers, e.g. politician and environmentalist Al Gore, former president and politician Tarja Halonen and of course the founder of CMI, former president and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Martti Ahtisaari – among other impact makers e.g. artists and activists. The aim of Lennonit is to educate the next generation of impact-makers and influencers. Already can be seen how much potential Lennonit holds.
Måndag has designed the concept and curated the programme of Lennonit together with CMI. Måndag has also done marketing and communication for Lennonit.
